The cross may be a symbol of Christian faith today but back when Jesus was around it was an object of torture and death. That is what Jesus endured for us!

John 3:16

(16)For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

 

 

This is probably one of the most famous scriptures in the whole Bible.  For good reason.  This scripture really gets to the heart of what it truly means to be a Christian just in this one little sentence.  It is important for us to know that God loves the WORLD.  That is all of us……and He loves us so much that he gave is only son.  God’s only son miraculously conceived in a woman’s womb.  He gave us his Son to become a sacrifice for our sins.  Jesus paved the way to eternal life……all we have to do is believe in Him.  Ask him to take your sins and nail them to the cross and you will be forgiven and it will be as if you had not sinned.

John 12:46-47

“(46)I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.  (47)As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him.  For I did not come to judge the world but to save it.”

Who’s light is Jesus shining?  He is shining God’s light!!!  If we believe in Jesus we will not remain in the dark.  We will not remain in anger, sadness, loneliness, or depression.  Jesus will light the way to God.  He will brighten your outlook on life and lift your spirit.  When we ask Jesus to come into our hearts then He will shine God’s light into all aspects of our lives and we should be sharing that light with those around us.  If Jesus shines God’s light and He is in us then doesn’t that mean that we also shine that light.  If we are not then we should be.  If the people around us are not seeing His light when they are around us then we are not doing our job.  As for the sinners……Jesus doesn’t judge them….He loves them.  Jesus came hear to save all those who are lost and need to be shown the right path.  He came to save us all because He loves us all.  Remember that we are all sinners so why would we judge others for their sins.  We need to be like Jesus and show everyone love.

John 17:20-26

“(20)My prayer is not for them alone.  I pray also for those who will believe in me through their (the desciples) message (21)that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You.  May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.  (22)I have given them the glory that You gave me, that they may be one as We are one: (23)I in them and You in Me.  May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.  (24)Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, and to see My glory, the glory You have given me because You loved me before the creation of the world.  (25)Righteous Father, though the world does not know You, I know You, and they know that You have sent Me.  (26)I have made You known to them, and will continue to make You known to them, in order that the love You have for Me may be in them and that I Myself may be in them.”

Jesus is praying for us.  He wants us to believe in him and unite as one.  To be one body……His body to show the world how much he loves them.  As we build his kingdom we are extending God’s reach to everyone in the world.  He prays that we can be one with Him and God.  Jesus and God are one and He wants us to be one with Him.  “That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.  May they also be in us so that the WORLD may believe that you have sent me.”  And right after that He said “I have given them the GLORY that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one”  How cool is that?  That Jesus is giving us the GLORY that God gave Him.  We have the Glory of God in us just like Jesus did.  Jesus loved us so much that he extended that Glory to us.  He wants to be part of us like He is part of God.  What an amazing Gift.  Jesus explains later in His prayer why He wants to be part of us.  He explains how He wants to be in us as God is in him.  So that we can all be united……and this is the best part……….so that we can show the world that God loves them the same way that he loves Jesus.  “May they be brought to complete unity to let the WORLD know that You sent Me and have LOVED them even as You have LOVED Me.”

Jesus loves us and wants to share the Love of God with the world.  He wants to do it through us.  If Jesus is in us then we need to share Him with the world so that everyone will know that God loves them.  Let Him in and start sharing Him today.  He came here to save us from condemnation…..He died so that we can live.  He wants to have a personal relationship with YOU and to spend the rest of eternity with YOU.  Let Him in.  God is Love and He is a Love that can not be expressed in words.  The only way to experience true unfailing Love is to except God’s love.  His love is perfect.

If you have never excepted Christ into your heart then I encourage you now to say this prayer with me.  And as you pray keep your heart and your mind open. 

Dear Lord Jesus,

I know that I am a sinner Lord and I beg for your forgiveness.  I want to have a personal relationship with you and ask that you come into my heart.  I know that you are the only way to Heaven and ask that you take me there when my time on earth is through!! Thank you Jesus……In Jesus name……Amen!
