Timothy Brenton ~ Fallen Seattle Police Officer

Written by Peter Sauer on November 4th, 2009

A PRAYER FOR THE FAMILY OF A FALLEN POLICE OFFICER

Officer Timothy Brenton

Officer Timothy Brenton

On October 31st, Halloween night, at about 10:20pm shots rang out at the corner of 24th & Yesler in Seattle’s East side. Officer Brenton was going over a routine traffic stop with a student officer when a small vehicle pulled up alongside the police cruiser. The student officer, Britt Sweeney, saw the passenger of the vehicle pull out a sawed off shotgun and ducked. Officer Brenton was tragically murdered and officer Sweeney was wounded in the incident. At this point no suspects have been arrested in this brutal attack on the Seattle Police.

This incident hits very close to home for me. I have 3 family members who all work for the Seattle Police Department, 2 of which are officers. Though I never knew officer Brenton I feel a great sadness and loss, almost as if part of my family was lost. I want to reach out to anybody who might be reading this and ask for your prayers for officer Brenton’s family and for officer Sweeney’s recovery.

Heavenly Father,

We come together today and admit our dependence on you. Father we know that we are sinners and ask for your forgiveness. We love you Lord and ask that you watch over Officer Brenton’s family, friends and co-workers. We ask that you help heal Officer Sweeney both physically and emotionally. Father we pray that you will guide the local, state, and federal officers that are investigating this crime and help them to bring the perpetrators to justice. You are an awesome God and we know that through you all things are possible.

In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen

If you have any information or leads in this case please call Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS and qualify for the $85,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the men or women responsible. Again that number is 1-800-222-8477. You can also call the Seattle Police Tipline at 206-233-5000. A fund for Officer Brenton’s family has been established at Bank Of America and donations may be accepted at any bank branch under “Brenton Family Assistance Fund.”

Cards can be sent to the family and the Seattle Police Department as well as any donations to the family at:

Weekly Scripture ~ Faith In God’s Strength

Written by Peter Sauer on August 26th, 2009

1 SAMUEL 17:45-47

“David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

Such Great Faith

Such Great Faith

GREAT FAITH

This scripture is a great example of faith.  David is just a boy and Goliath is not only a giant but has been a soldier from his youth.  David had so much faith that God would deliver Goliath into his hands that he got rid of the sword and the armor and fought Goliath with just a sling and a stone.  Not only was David confident that God would deliver Goliath into his hands but that God would deliver the entire Philistine army into the hands of the Israelites.

Any giants in your life? Let go of your fear of them and be confident and expect God to deliver your giants into your hands. Know that there is nothing so big that God can’t handle it. Let me know if you have a story about your own battle with a giant and what the end results were. Just use the comment box and share!

Tuesday Testimonials ~ How Has God Gifted You?

Written by Peter Sauer on August 25th, 2009

WHAT GIFT HAS GOD GIVEN YOU

Don't let your gift go to waist!

Don't let your gift go to waist!

God has given each and every one of us unique gifts.  Sometimes I wish that I was better at sports or better at playing music or ever better at art.  Unfortunately, for me, those were not the things that God had gifted me with.  I feel that I am ok at sports and I play the guitar from time to time but my real gift is the gift of understanding.  Now there are some people who are great at talking with other people…..I am very good at listening to people.  I am good at understanding what people are saying and trying to relate to them. HE’S THE MAN

This is a great sermon from Karori Baptist Church in Wellington, New Zealand.  Pastor Mike Enright talks about the Man Jesus and how He and God are one.  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.” John 1:1-4. Jesus put a face to the invisible God and all of God’s strength and fullness ran through him and he shed his blood for us.  I encourage you to listen to this powerful sermon and visit the churches website.

Donkey Kong Flash ~ Save The Princess!!! :)

HELP MARIO SAVE THE PRINCESS FROM THE CLUTCHES OF THE BARREL HURLING BEAST!!!

Mario Games

A DEFFINATE CLASSIC

To a lot of you this game might seem outdated but to me, and I’m sure there are some of you that agree with me, this game is a classic.  I remember being a small child and entering the ice cream shop with my mom and my brothers.  The ice cream shop had one arcade game and this was it.  I lived in a small tourist town in Alaska at the time called Skagway and after my first encounter with this arcade game I often would go back to the ice cream shop with my bothers and my friends to take another crack at saving the princess.  I hope you all have fun!!!!  Let me know how it goes.  If you get a good score let me know….I will be keeping a tally of high scores!

THANK YOU FOR VISITING FAITH4GOD.COM.  GOOD LUCK……YOUR PRINCESS IS WAITING.  GOD BLESS YOU!

Love One Another ~ The Greatest Command Ever Given

Written by Peter Sauer on August 12th, 2009

WEEKLY SCRIPTURE

JOHN 13:34-35

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Love is something that we need to freely give. Through that love Jesus will be found.

Love is something that we need to freely give. Through that love Jesus will be found.

SOMETIMES LOVE IS HARD

We all know people that are difficult or don’t mesh well with you.  It is hard for us to let ourselves love those people because we are hard headed.  I know that personally I come across at least 1 person every day that makes it difficult for me to love them. Like it or not….that is exactly what we need to do.  Even if we are not loved in return by the other person we need to still love them.  Jesus came her and everything he did he had done out of love for us.  All the miracles throughout his life and death were performed in order to tell us he loved us.  How many times in the scriptures do we read about these amazing acts of love?  How many times do we also read that He was hated for it?  In this scripture Jesus commands us to love each other and I plan on following that command no matter how hard it might be.  Because of Jesus’ amazing love I am able to love all men no matter how hard they are to love.

How have you shown love recently?

THANK YOU FOR VISITING FAITH4GOD.  I LOVE YOU AND HOPE YOU WILL JOIN US HERE AGAIN.  HAVE A GREAT WEEK!  GOD BLESS YOU!!!!! Click to continue »
